DADDIES BOARD SHOP NOW CHARGING FEES TO NON-CUSTOMERS.
Portland, OR — Daddies Board Shop, LLC announced a new series of fees this week that will apply to all customers not currently purchasing or placing orders online, or even thinking about ordering from Daddies.
The fees, the latest introduced by Daddies Board Shop, in a continuing effort to combat its financial woes, will take effect on Monday. According to Dan and Sarah Loveland, these charges will include a $25 tax on customers ordering with any other online retailer, as well as a mandatory $30 surcharge for customers who won’t even turn on their computer.
"Tough times unfortunately mean tough measures," Daddies Board Shop president Melanie Loveland said. "It's never an easy decision to ask our loyal customers, as well as thousands of people chosen at random out of a telephone book, to pay a little extra, but that's just the reality of today's economic climate. We hope all Americans will understand this when receiving one of our new bills in the mail."
"We are confident that these new measures will not discourage customers from ordering online with Daddies," vice president Dan Loveland said. "However, we'd like to remind our customers that there is a 'discouraged-from-ordering-online-with Daddies' charge if they do in fact choose not to place an order with us."
Daddies Board Shop, which posted a $1.45 billion loss in the second quarter of 2008 alone, claimed that the new fees—including the Taking A Look At Our Site Fee, the Calling Us On The Phone Fee, and the Leaving Our Website Fee—will help the company rebound. According to internal projections, the board shop will recoup $500 million in the next three months alone, with nearly 80 percent of that revenue coming from non-customers who are not paying attention to their bills.
Getting on the internet last night cost me $250," said Baltimore resident Michael Peterson, one of many Americans now forced to pay these fees. "It's ridiculous, but what can you do? I guess that's just the price of not ordering from Daddies Board Shop these days."
In response to Daddies Board Shop’s move, other board shops have begun offering more competitive rates. Backcountry.com this week unveiled a new $99 "spend the weekend quietly getting stoned indoors" offer, while Thelongboardstore.com is introducing a $125 fee for those customers who have Qwest DSL rather than Comcast cable.
Despite reduced offers such as these, many remain concerned over the new fees. Some have even expressed doubt about whether they'll be able to afford to even shop online again.

Ha! Dan and I went to the climbing gym for lunch and Melanie was bored so she ripped this off from the Onion and re-tooled it for our use. We are actually doing just fine.
All you small business owners out there, keep your chin up!
Love and prosperity!
